DESCRIPTION OF PRODUCT
ABSTRACT/PRODUCT DESCRIPTION :
An emerging lubrication technology for ball bearings made from carbon-chrome steel was experimentally simulated using a modified ball-on-disc, tribometer. The test was performed over a broad range of applied loads (W), sliding velocities (v) and sliding distances (L) under gas lubricated conditions. The results found that nitrogen gas blown to the sliding surfaces in air effectively reduced average coefficient of friction and simultaneously improved wear resistance by 24% and 50% respectively, as compared with the air lubrication. This is an accordance with a significant reduction of wear scar diameter and smoother wom surfaces on a ball.
NOVELTY OF PRODUCT :
New lubrication technology for ball bearings using nitrogen gas
TARGET MARKET :
For the use of small/heavy machineries and vehicles.
